MOCK BATTLE

MOCK BATTLE

"BATTLE OF TWENTE CHANNEL APRIL 1945"

Description of the scenario Mock Battle:

It is in early April 1945. Allied troops are slowly advancing from Gelderland to liberate the eastern and northern provinces of our country. The advance is slow, because of the sometimes very stubborn German resistance. Some German units have buried themselves in strategic positions that are literally defended by hand and tooth, plus the retreat of their own troops. When the Allied troops approach the Twente Canal at Delden, they encountered enormous German resistance. Reconnaissance units are shot by the Germans and soon it is realized that the German defense is massive and must be broken by heavier means. Tanks are joined together with infantry to battle and break the German positions.

* Every Mock Battle will be performed in this way and is based on the actual battle that took place at the Twente Canal on 4 and 5 April 1945 *
